China

Well, 3C have got straight underway with their investigation topic for the beginning of this term and are discovering amazing and interesting facts and information about China!

Here are some facts that Mrs C has seen and heard the children find out this week! I have loved listening and being part of your conversations!!

We have found out so far:

China is in Asia.
China is the third largest country in the world and has the largest population. (Ryan B and Ronan)

Countries which border China are Vietnam, Nepal, India, Mongolia. (Mya and Ryan L)

The China Sea and Pacific Ocean border China.
There is a 2 hour time difference between China and Australia. (Noah and Paddy)

Some landmarks in China are 'The Great Wall of China', 'Mount Everest', 'The Himalayas', 'The Plateau of Tibet'. (Olivia and Nat)

The Great Wall of China is 6,400 KM long! It was built and rebuilt between the 6th and 16th Centuary. The most famous is the wall built between 220–200 BC by the first
Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. The wall was built to protect the various dynasties from raids by Mongol, Turkic, and other nomadic tribes (By Callum and Jack)

Lots of Chinese people practise the art of Calligraphy. (Erin and Ryan Br)

Pandas are native animals of
China (Roisin and Joel)

Chinese Opera masks are worn in traditional operas. (Abbey and Melissa)

There are lots more. Watch this space to see the 'Photo Story 3' reports we are making on China!
In the meantime, take a look at this video on Chinese Culture. It has been translated into English from Chinese so I think there are a couple of mistakes in the English used...can you spot them. Clue: nooble is one! What should it say?
