Our Learning This Week

We have worked so hard this week in 3C and had great fun!The narratives that we have read so far this term, inspired us to become authors and illustrators. We have been working really hard writing and editing our own books.Erin found out about speech marks and shared her learning with the rest of the class. We are working on a 'Voicethread' for this, so she can tell YOU about it.

We had a couple of wet play times and enjoyed building towers out of blocks. Then we thought - who can really build the best tower? This sparked an investigation. First, we worked out a criteria for the best tower and then we worked in teams to build the best tower. We had to measure it carefully in centimetres and it had to be strong and look good (this meant it had to be straight with some detail on it). Which one do you like?

Also, this week we have been beginning to find out about change. In our Inquiry unit we have started to think about how our lifestyle affects and changes the environment around us. Ben's mum kindly came in to talk about 'change' in science. She did some really cool experiments that showed us physical and chemical changes. Mrs C's favourite was the one that went BANG!!! I'm not so sure it was Mr H's favourite though as spilt all over his carpet when it went BANG!
